While perusing Tumblr, I came across this screenshot.

The year that focuses on Virginia Woolf's life is 1923.

Alain has JULY 23 (23 Juillet) written and circled on his mirror.

At the end of the movie, it states that Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were turned down by 23 record labels before self- producing their debut album.

In the Beatles; film The Yellow Submarine, the Butterfly Stomper, who destroys all things of beauty, wears a shirt with the number 23.
